About Us
Maple & Hickory Woodworking simply wants to create custom pieces that bring joy and a positive energy to environments. I want to nurture a brand that communicates quality and inclusivity.

I started woodworking when I was around 12 years old. I started making small decorative items made from scrap wood I found at new home building sites. I created miniature grandfather clocks and miniature pianos. I sold them around the neighborhood for $5.00, which in 1989 time was a decent amount for a 12-year-old.

I took a long hiatus from woodworking and came back to it when I moved into a new home. I wanted to create a farmhouse style dining table, but I had no tools. I reached out to a friend, and she assisted me in gathering the wood and cutting it. I bought a sander and started working on the table. After a month of building the table, I had myself a new dining table of which I was proud. That build reconnected me to woodworking.

Over the years I started building my shop and tool collection. I moved to a new home in 2020 and had a garage I transformed to my new workshop. I started a business under Maple & Hickory Woodworking, because Maple and Hickory are my dogs that I rescued from Warrior Dog Rescue in 2020 and 2022.
I now create pieces that bring joy and happiness to people. I can create custom pieces, so please do not hesitate to ask and we can discuss your project!
Thanks for reading!
